Job description

Join NVIDIA's GPU Power Management Software team in Pune as a Senior System Software Engineer. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with skilled software and hardware engineers, utilizing diverse technologies. You will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and implementing power management software solutions, contributing to the validation of our next-generation processors before their launch. The ideal candidate blends deep technical proficiency with strong communication skills.

This position is critical for shaping the future of GPU power efficiency. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, ensuring our products meet the demanding performance-per-watt requirements across various customer segments.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and debug kernel-mode NVIDIA software for cutting-edge hardware through production stages. Develop and optimize CPU, GPU, and platform power management features, including DVFS, power states, residency, and idle/active power. Lead the bring-up and hardening of power-related kernel and firmware components across SOC, PMU, regulators, and OS frameworks. Provide support for GPU products across Desktop, Notebook, Workstation, and Data Center markets, focusing on performance-per-watt, thermal-aware scheduling, and system resilience. Drive emulation, silicon bring-up, power/performance validation, and product hardening processes. Collaborate internationally with hardware, firmware, OS, and platform teams on end-to-end power behavior, telemetry, and optimization strategies.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, coupled with a BS or MS degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field. Solid understanding of computer system architecture, microprocessors, and microcontrollers (e.g., caches, memory controllers, DMA). Proficiency in Operating Systems fundamentals, with specific kernel experience on Windows. A strong foundation in CPU/GPU power-state machines, platform power controllers, DVFS, ACPI/Modern Standby, and SOC-level low-power modes is highly beneficial. Expertise in C programming and system-level debugging, particularly concerning power, performance, and thermal interactions, is essential.
