Join our GPU Firmware team as a Senior System Software Engineer and contribute to the core boot software powering world-leading GPUs. This role is perfect for those who thrive on low-level software development and designing efficient firmware solutions in highly constrained environments. You will be instrumental in innovating and securing the GPU boot process, where every byte is critical.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant industry impact by collaborating with brilliant minds in the GPU sector. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of GPU technologies through challenging and rewarding problem-solving.
If you're driven, creative, and ready to tackle complex firmware puzzles, we encourage you to apply.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and optimizing GPU firmware across its lifecycle. You will create innovative solutions for boot software, collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring firmware features to life, and work with OS and PC vendors to enhance the user startup experience.
Further duties involve improving team software processes and core infrastructure through projects focused on build systems and regression farms. You'll also continuously evaluate and enhance firmware security, acting as a root of trust for flash and boot security. This includes refining control-plane and management interfaces, and working with hardware teams to bolster GPU hardware security and manageability.
We are seeking candidates with a BS/MS degree or equivalent experience in EE/CS/CE and over 5 years of experience in device BIOS, firmware, or low-level software development. Strong proficiency in C and exceptional communication skills are essential.
A deep understanding of software processes and fundamentals of secure software, including cryptography, authentication, chains of trust, and common security vulnerabilities, is required. You should be adept at collaborating closely with hardware designers and software engineers to develop and debug GPU subsystems effectively. A good sense of humor is a plus.
Standout candidates will possess experience with x86 assembly, in-depth PC architecture knowledge, expertise in RISC-V and other microarchitectures, and proficiency with PCI/PCIe architecture. Familiarity with protocols like MCTP, PLDM, SPDM, and experience developing for UEFI environments are also highly desirable.
