You will collaborate globally and across functions with engineers and product managers to proactively combat abuse and fraud at Google's pace. Your work will directly contribute to fostering user trust and ensuring paramount levels of safety.

As a T&S Ads Scams Analyst, your primary focus will be protecting users from scams originating outside the Google Ads Platform. You will utilize data-driven insights to guide product improvements and develop effective global and local strategies to outmaneuver fraudsters. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring legitimate advertisers have optimal opportunities to serve their campaigns.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Legal, to advance projects that enhance user safety and improve the online experience within Google Ads.

Execute sophisticated data queries and analyses, develop visual models, and prepare presentations on abuse trends. These efforts will support fraud prevention initiatives and inform modifications to existing abuse detection systems, all while maintaining a positive advertiser experience.

Conduct thorough investigations to identify and apprehend fraudsters, enforce product policies, discern emerging scam patterns and trends, and pinpoint product vulnerabilities.

Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements, driving the implementation of solutions through data analysis or collaborative partnerships.

Provide on-call support as needed and manage escalations from internal and external stakeholders within defined service level agreements, acknowledging the potential for exposure to sensitive content.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Possess at least 4 years of relevant experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy development, cybersecurity, or a related domain. Demonstrated experience in data analysis and effective stakeholder management is essential.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, or statistics.

Experience with scripting and programming languages like C/C++, Python, or Java is advantageous.

Familiarity with fraud or policy investigations, fraud risk management, internet advertising, or e-commerce is beneficial.

Experience in business analysis, statistical analysis, or machine learning roles is a plus.
