Shape the future roadmap and overarching goals for the YouTube Create product, providing vital technical direction for a team of approximately 40 engineers in Bengaluru.

Lead engineering efforts, establishing and promoting best practices across YouTube engineering teams. Offer technical mentorship, supporting Team Leads and Lead Engineers in their technical decision-making processes.

Collaborate closely on delivering OKRs and roadmap objectives. Drive integration and alignment across multiple work streams through cross-organizational collaboration, ensuring strategic coherence and differentiation.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is essential.

Requires a minimum of 8 years in software development, including 7 years focused on building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks. Significant experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture is also needed.

Possess at least 3 years of experience in full-stack development, covering back-end technologies like Java, Python, or C++, and front-end skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical field, 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 5 years in a technical leadership capacity. Experience with complex, matrixed organizations and cross-functional projects is also beneficial.
