Lead technical strategy for Rippling's next-generation Monetization Platform, overseeing CPQ, contracts, entitlements, subscriptions, metering, billing, payments, tax, and revenue workflows.

Architect robust systems with high guarantees for data integrity, auditability, and reliability. Design durable platform abstractions enabling product teams to innovate rapidly without custom solutions.

Drive multi-team initiatives from conception through execution and operational ownership. Establish clear service boundaries, APIs, and data models for interconnected systems.

Make critical technical trade-offs balancing correctness, scalability, performance, and maintainability. Remain hands-on through design, code reviews, and debugging.

Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, Accounting, and Engineering teams to identify and mitigate technical risks. Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the organization.

We seek a seasoned engineer with 15+ years in software engineering, specializing in backend, platform, or distributed systems. Proven experience at Staff+ level is essential.

A deep, hands-on engineering foundation is required, including strong coding, debugging, system design, and production ownership skills. Experience with large-scale distributed systems demanding high reliability and data correctness is crucial.

Expertise in architecture, databases, data modeling, concurrency, event-driven systems, service boundaries, and long-term maintainability is expected. You must demonstrate the ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from definition to production.

Possess strong technical judgment for making trade-offs and influencing senior stakeholders. A track record of mentorship and elevating engineering practices is valued.
