This role focuses on Google One (G1), our rapidly expanding membership service offering personal cloud storage and advanced AI features. With over 150 million subscribers, G1 presents an exciting chance to significantly influence subscriber experiences and business growth by shaping premium features and strategic initiatives.

Provide strong technical leadership, guiding architectural roadmaps to optimize user conversion, rapid experimentation, system reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.

Mentor and influence a global team of engineers, fostering alignment across different teams on objectives and timelines.

Collaborate with Google infrastructure teams to ensure daily engineering execution aligns with overarching company priorities.

Effectively manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance sophisticated large-scale software solutions.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

We seek candidates with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on software development experience, including a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. Five years of experience in software design, architecture, and product launch/testing is also essential.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or PhD in a technical field, 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, 5 years in a technical leadership capacity guiding project teams and setting technical direction, and 3 years of experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations with cross-functional projects.
