Security is a paramount concern in today's digital landscape. The Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for managing cybersecurity risks across Microsoft. We collaborate closely with Engineering teams to reinforce our Secure Future Initiative (SFI) objectives, ensuring the robust security of our products and business operations.
Lead and develop a high-performing team of Software Engineers dedicated to building secure, cloud-native platform services. These services will power Microsoft's tenant lifecycle management, identity governance, and application governance.
Define the technical vision, strategy, and architecture for next-generation platform capabilities. This includes tenant lifecycle automation, workflow orchestration, and AI-driven engineering experiences.
Drive the design and implementation of scalable distributed systems, APIs, and platform services. Our focus is on data-driven solutions that enhance security, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.
Collaborate across various engineering, product, identity, security, data, and infrastructure teams. The goal is to translate customer needs into integrated platform capabilities and ensure cross-organizational execution.
Champion engineering excellence by promoting AI-native software development, modern engineering practices, secure-by-design principles, high-quality architecture, robust testing, code quality, and operational readiness. This includes modernizing platforms with cloud-native architectures, API-first design, Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD, observability, and data-driven practices.
Establish operational excellence through resilient services with comprehensive monitoring, telemetry, live-site readiness, incident management, and continuous service improvements.
Manage technical priorities, dependencies, resources, and delivery commitments across multiple engineering investments. Balance long-term platform strategy with near-term business objectives.
Cultivate an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture by attracting, developing, and mentoring exceptional talent. Empower engineers to innovate, collaborate, and grow.
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, coupled with at least 6 years of technical engineering experience in designing and building large-scale software systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or C# is essential.
Minimum of 4 years of people management experience leading successful Software Engineering teams. Demonstrated success in delivering cloud-native applications, distributed systems, platform services, or enterprise engineering platforms is required.
Proven expertise in designing, building, and operating highly available, mission-critical distributed systems or enterprise-scale cloud-native platform services.
Experience guiding engineering organizations through architecture evolution, platform modernization, and complex technical initiatives. This includes leveraging modern engineering practices like secure software development, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and operational excellence.
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-organizational execution and influence engineering strategy across multiple teams and stakeholders.
