As a Senior Software Engineer on the YouTube Live Creator Platform, you will contribute to a scalable creator ecosystem, focusing on a robust third-party YouTube Live creation environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full technology stack, from back-end development in C++ to front-end solutions with Typescript. This role involves owning and scaling a Live control room architecture to support multiple client teams, alongside leading and mentoring a newly formed live team in Bengaluru. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders in Bengaluru and San Bruno (SBO) to deliver modern and reliable live streaming features. A key aspect of this position is scaling third-party Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to enhance the support and scalability of our third-party ecosystems, ensuring a seamless creator experience.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of 5 years in mobile applications and back-end services development using languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Flutter, iOS, or Android. Essential experience includes 3 years in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year in software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 1 year in a technical leadership capacity. Experience with full-stack, client, and front-end engineering, particularly in leading consumer-facing product development within the video domain, is highly valued.
