The Search Serving Infrastructure (SSI) team is at the forefront of reimagining Search for AI-first experiences. We are focused on optimizing performance and reliability for AI Overviews (AIO) and AI Mode (AIM), while also enhancing the classic Search Results Page (SRP). Our 2026 roadmap prioritizes accelerating AI experiences through comprehensive full-stack optimizations.

Key responsibilities include writing and rigorously testing product or system development code. You will actively participate in or lead design reviews, collaborating with peers and stakeholders to select optimal technologies. Provide constructive feedback on code developed by other engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, accuracy, and efficiency. Contribute to and update existing documentation and educational materials, adapting them to product changes and user feedback. Effectively triage product or system issues, debugging and resolving them by analyzing root causes and their impact on operations and quality.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, coupled with 5 years of software development experience in at least one programming language. Candidates should possess 3 years of experience in software product testing, maintenance, or launch, and 1 year of experience in software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications feature a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. Demonstrate 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 6 years of experience programming in C++. We also value 4 years of experience building large-scale infrastructure, software design, and architecture, along with 1 year in a technical leadership capacity. Experience integrating generative AI tools or Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces into workflows is highly advantageous.
