Our Data Integration team within Microsoft Fabric is crucial for connecting, moving, and shaping data across diverse sources. We simplify data ingestion, transformation, and preparation, ensuring data is trusted, usable, and ready for advanced analytics, real-time insights, and AI scenarios.

This role focuses on Power Query and Dataflows, emphasizing end-to-end data integration, high-scale engineering for reliable and scalable multi-tenant services, and customer-centric innovation to enhance product experiences across Microsoft platforms.

Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, guiding them in the disciplined use of AI tools and practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Drive improvements in processes and practices by coaching the team on engineering health measures and experimenting with AI tools to enhance individual capabilities.

Oversee code reviews, ensuring adherence to team standards, appropriate test coverage, and overall code quality. Provide constructive feedback to develop other engineers' skills, accelerating development pace while considering diagnosability, reliability, testability, and maintainability. Advocate for automated source code analysis tools integrated into the development process.

Guide teams in identifying and incorporating dependencies into design documents, leveraging other teams and technologies. Ensure seamless integration and manage upstream/downstream interactions across systems, prioritizing security, compliance, performance, and reliability. Resolve cross-team conflicts related to dependencies.

Champion best practices for secure design principles and code development, including formal validation of security invariants. Monitor product development and scaling against customer requirements, applying best practices for performance expectations and security promises. Promote the use of GenAI tooling for engineering productivity enhancements.

Deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling culture and values, coaching team objectives, enabling cross-boundary success, and investing in individual growth by understanding capabilities and aspirations.

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required, coupled with at least 10 years of technical engineering experience. Proficiency in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python is essential. Equivalent experience may also be considered.

This role requires the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience as mentioned above. Additionally, 3+ years of people management experience is highly valued.
