As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software through hands-on development and close collaboration with technical leads on design and implementation.

You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production support, resolving incidents and addressing complex problem tickets. Your role involves planning, designing, and developing technical solutions that adhere to Mastercard's stringent standards and best practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities include leading daily system development and maintenance activities to meet critical Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will also champion innovation, drive cost-effectiveness, maintain high quality, and expedite time-to-market for new solutions. This involves owning the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements and technical design to testing, performance benchmarking, release planning, and feasibility studies.

Further contributions include participating in Proofs of Concept (PoCs), supporting vendor and technology selections, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, and providing technical mentorship to team members. Continuous improvement of standards and process efficiency is also a key focus, ensuring robust test coverage across unit, system, integration, and performance testing, along with rigorous quality inspections and walkthroughs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, alongside robust collaboration and organizational abilities. Essential technical skills include extensive experience in the development and debugging of J2EE RESTful Web Services and Web Applications. Proficiency in database technologies like Oracle and SQL scripting is required, along with expertise in the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot. Experience with build and dependency management using Maven, unit testing with JUnit and Mockito, and working with application servers such as JBoss and/or Apache Tomcat are also crucial.

Version control proficiency using Git is mandatory. Desirable skills encompass experience with containerized environments like Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Cloud Foundry, integration frameworks such as Apache Camel or Spring Integration, and monitoring service performance. Familiarity with frontend technologies like Angular 2+ or modern SPA frameworks (React + Redux), along with knowledge of HTML5, ES5/ES6, TypeScript, SASS, and CSS3, would be advantageous.
