This Senior Software Engineer (Java) position is integral to our globally distributed delivery model, working in tandem with established onshore teams. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our high-availability, mission-critical payment systems within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute significantly to our Agile delivery processes within the SAFe framework. This includes active participation in sprint planning, execution, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate closely with our onshore engineering teams to deliver new features, address defects, and ensure seamless integration throughout the development lifecycle. Your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining solutions across a diverse technology stack, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical live systems.

Furthermore, you will champion engineering best practices, contribute to automation efforts, and identify process enhancements to elevate delivery efficiency and product quality. A strong focus on production support and maintaining the resilience of our platforms is essential.

We seek a technically adept and collaborative Software Engineer with a passion for tackling complex, enterprise-scale challenges. Essential qualifications include proven expertise in Java backend development and relational databases, specifically Oracle.

Experience with the Spring Boot framework is a must, alongside familiarity with TDD and BDD testing methodologies. A working knowledge of frontend technologies like Angular and JavaScript, as well as SQL scripting for data handling, is required. Exposure to DevOps tooling and experience within Agile/Scrum environments, ideally SAFe, are highly valued.

Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, an ownership mindset, and the ability to foster effective collaboration across distributed teams. Desirable experience encompasses working with REST, messaging, and event-driven frameworks, knowledge of security mechanisms, and exposure to payment systems or financial services environments.
