This role is integral to our Open Finance Europe – Connectivity team, focusing on building and managing robust API integrations with financial institutions throughout Europe.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and operation of secure, highly available backend services. You will tackle challenging engineering problems, influence system architecture decisions, and deliver high-caliber solutions designed for large-scale production environments.

Key responsibilities include designing, building, testing, and maintaining scalable APIs and backend services. You will contribute significantly to system design, prioritizing scalability, resilience, and performance. Delivering production-ready code throughout the software development lifecycle, troubleshooting production issues to ensure system stability, and participating in code reviews to uphold best practices are also critical.

Further duties involve implementing comprehensive testing strategies, from unit to end-to-end, and fostering collaboration with Product, Architecture, Security, and SRE teams. Enhancing service observability, automation, and operational efficiency will be a continuous effort.

We are seeking a seasoned professional with 3-5 years of dedicated software engineering experience, particularly in building distributed, cloud-native backend systems. A strong command of API development, scalability principles, and production support is essential. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to dissect complex technical challenges methodically and pragmatically.

Proficiency in SDLC, testing methodologies, and secure coding practices is required. You should demonstrate a proven capacity to independently own and deliver software components or services. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are paramount for success in this role. Experience in payments, banking, or Open Banking (PSD2), microservices architectures, and familiarity with observability tools are considered advantageous.
