This role within the Open Finance Europe – Connectivity team focuses on building and maintaining robust API integrations with financial institutions across Europe. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and operating secure and reliable backend services, tackling complex engineering challenges and contributing to high-scale production environments.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable APIs and backend services. You'll contribute to system design decisions with an emphasis on scalability, resilience, and performance. This role involves delivering high-quality, production-ready code throughout the software development lifecycle, troubleshooting production issues, and participating in code reviews to uphold engineering best practices. Improving observability, automation, and operational efficiency, alongside collaborating with Product, Architecture, Security, and SRE teams, are also core to this position.

We are seeking candidates with 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating strong hands-on expertise in building cloud-based, distributed backend systems and solid proficiency in API development, scalability, and production support. A structured approach to solving complex technical problems, a deep understanding of SDLC, testing practices, and secure coding principles are essential. Proven ability to independently own and deliver components/services, coupled with strong collaboration and communication skills, is required.
