The Open Finance Analytics team is seeking an innovative Senior Software Engineer. This role is pivotal in driving product advancement through continuous problem-solving and optimization. We are looking for a candidate who is intellectually curious, a collaborative team player, and adept at tackling projects with evolving details. The ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and other teams to deliver maintainable, flexible, and scalable solutions is essential.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions aligned with technical requirements. You will collaborate closely with Data Science and Product teams to identify business opportunities, address challenges, and deliver impactful solutions. Responsibilities include programming, testing, documenting, and maintaining applications in accordance with Mastercard's established standards, processes, and best practices. You will also be encouraged to contribute ideas and actively seek opportunities to elevate team standards and enhance overall efficiency.
Ideal candidates possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience. A strong foundation in software engineering concepts, methodologies, and best practices is required. You should be capable of evaluating and comparing various technical solutions to determine the optimal approach for complex problems. Proven experience across diverse architectures and technologies, with the ability to articulate and defend technical decisions, is expected. Experience in designing intuitive, flexible REST services is also a key requirement.
Proficiency or a strong willingness to learn Golang is desired, alongside experience with SQL, Docker, RabbitMQ, and Redis. A solid understanding of common software development tools and processes, including Git, unit and integration testing, code reviews, documentation, Jira, SCRUM ceremonies, Flyway, and VS Code, is crucial. Additional valuable qualifications include clear communication of technical concepts, effective collaboration within a geographically distributed team (potentially including meetings outside standard business hours), and experience with React.js, Linux, hosting machine-learning models, gRPC, MLflow, or Databricks.
