As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java-based backend services utilizing Spring Boot, Spring Integration, and gRPC. You'll translate complex business needs into secure, efficient, and reusable software solutions, contributing to critical architectural decisions that ensure performance, resilience, and maintainability.
Key responsibilities include crafting and executing automated tests, analyzing application performance to implement optimizations, and adhering to secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle. You will also conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and perform root-cause analysis for complex distributed system issues. Ensuring operational readiness through monitoring and production support is also a vital part of this role, alongside managing individual priorities and participating actively in Agile ceremonies.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Java platform engineering is essential, with strong proficiency in Spring Boot, REST or gRPC, distributed systems, and cloud-native development on platforms like AWS or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in designing resilient, high-volume transaction processing systems, preferably within the payments or financial transaction sector. A solid understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms is crucial. Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, messaging/event-driven architectures (e.g., Apache Kafka), and cloud infrastructure is required. You should possess strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of secure coding practices, and experience supporting production systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary, along with the ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship.
