This Senior Software Engineer role is for a visionary who excels at crafting highly scalable, resilient, and cloud-native distributed systems. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Java and modern backend technologies, coupled with a strong grasp of event-driven architectures, cloud platforms, containerization, and emerging AI-driven software development practices. Success in this role demands both exceptional technical execution and the ability to foster engineering excellence throughout the team.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise-grade microservices using Java and Spring Boot. You will build highly scalable and resilient APIs and backend services, and implement event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka. Developing cloud-native applications deployed on PCF and containerized environments will be central to this role. You will actively contribute to architecture discussions and technical design reviews, driving software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and best engineering practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable payment solutions is essential. Additionally, you'll leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding practices to boost productivity, enhance code quality, streamline testing, and improve documentation. A critical aspect of the role involves diagnosing and resolving complex production issues with a strong focus on reliability and operational excellence.
We seek candidates with strong proficiency in Java (8+ years preferred) and expert knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful Services, JPA/Hibernate, Multithreading, and Concurrent Programming. A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns is crucial. Expertise in event-driven systems includes hands-on experience with Kafka, building asynchronous architectures, and understanding reliability patterns like Outbox Pattern, Retry Mechanisms, Idempotency, and Dead Letter Queues. Cloud and Platform Engineering experience is required, including PCF, strong Docker expertise, and developing cloud-native applications. Familiarity with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes/OpenShift and an understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices are important. Strong SQL skills, experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), and knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization are necessary. Proficiency in test-driven development, unit, integration, and API testing, along with secure coding practices and API security (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT) are essential. Experience with AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted code generation, AI-driven testing/debugging, and agentic workflows is also a key requirement. The ability to effectively utilize AI tools while upholding engineering quality and security standards is paramount.
