We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on quality and automation to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the robustness and reliability of our cutting-edge payment solutions.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the entire software quality lifecycle. This includes actively participating in requirements discussions, meticulous test planning, and the creation of comprehensive test scenarios, cases, and data adherence to Mastercard's rigorous standards.

You will collaborate closely with project teams to meet deadlines, proactively identifying emerging issues and proposing effective solutions. A key part of your role will involve designing and developing advanced test automation scenarios for system-to-system interfaces and complete software solutions, covering API, UI, performance, compatibility, and security testing.

Your responsibilities extend to translating complex system requirements into actionable test requirements, identifying and implementing intricate automation efforts, and developing robust test scripts for both automated and manual exploratory testing. You will also own defect management, escalating issues, documenting processes according to best practices, and generating performance test strategies and plans.

Furthermore, you will collect quality metrics, communicate test status and risks to stakeholders, act as a first-level reviewer for project-level reviews, and provide essential technical support and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 6 to 9 years of dedicated experience in software quality engineering and automation is essential.

Proficiency in a strong technology stack including Java, Selenium, Cucumber/Jbehave, Soap UI, Jmeter, Spring framework, REST, JSON, Eclipse, and GIT is required. Excellent SQL skills are necessary for working with large datasets, along with the ability to comprehend and write complex queries. Experience in testing APIs (REST and SOAP), web user interfaces, and reports is crucial.

Demonstrated experience in implementing CI/CD build pipelines using tools like Git/Bit Bucket, Jenkins, and Maven is expected. You should have a proven track record of validating application codebases through automation for new features and regression testing. Familiarity with Agile teams and SAFe principles is a must.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a capacity for rapid adaptation to new technologies and methodologies, are highly valued. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital for effective interaction with diverse technical teams and stakeholders.
