This role is for a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to a critical project within Google's expansive engineering landscape. You'll collaborate with talented individuals across various domains, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design, shaping the future of how billions connect with information.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the complete software development lifecycle. This includes writing and rigorously testing product or system development code, actively participating in or leading design reviews to evaluate and select appropriate technologies, and ensuring code quality through thorough reviews and feedback to peers.

You will also be responsible for triaging and resolving product or system issues by analyzing root causes and their impact on operations. Furthermore, your contributions will extend to enhancing existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback.

We are seeking experienced professionals with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and a minimum of 5 years in software development using one or more programming languages. A strong foundation in software testing, maintenance, or launch is essential, alongside 1 year of experience in software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience developing accessible technologies is also highly valued.
