Join our innovative team as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the development of Lavaflow, Google's next-generation experiment data processing solution. This scalable and efficient platform is designed to be a Google-wide standard, simplifying user onboarding for experiment analysis. In this role, you will focus on enhancing agentic debuggability to automate root-cause analysis and expedite the resolution of production issues, requiring a deep understanding of distributed systems.

We are responsible for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, and essential building blocks that ensure excellent, safe, and coherent user experiences. We identify and address technical challenges across Google, driving innovation and impacting critical technical decisions company-wide.

Take full ownership of the AI-driven Lavaflow debugging roadmap, transforming Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and existing workflows into robust, production-ready agentic tools.

Develop autonomous skills, agent solutions, and advanced deep tracing capabilities within the Lavaflow ecosystem.

Collaborate closely with client teams, such as BARD, to implement automated end-to-end issue debugging, significantly reducing the mean time to resolve and minimizing developer friction.

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, coupled with a minimum of 5 years in software development using one or more programming languages. You should possess at least 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year focused on software design and architecture.

Experience with distributed systems, software architecture, or system design is essential. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 1 year in a technical leadership role.
