At UnitedHealth Group, we champion a future where everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to live their healthiest life. We are actively working to dismantle barriers to good health, particularly for communities of color, historically marginalized groups, and those with lower incomes. Our commitment extends to environmental sustainability and delivering equitable care that addresses health disparities and enhances health outcomes.

Responsibilities

Monitor application and infrastructure health using Dynatrace, Splunk, and Zabbix, promptly addressing P1 alerts and performing initial debugging to minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot application startup failures, deployment issues, and investigate REST API problems, including connection and timeout errors.

Analyze slow transactions using Dynatrace PurePath tracing and perform root cause analysis for P1 incidents.

Coordinate incident response with application, database, network, and infrastructure teams, escalating unresolved issues with detailed documentation.

Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to RCA documentation, while maintaining accurate incident tickets in ServiceNow or Jira.

Communicate timely incident notifications and status updates to stakeholders, and maintain thorough shift handover notes.

Document recurring issues, propose enhancements to the monitoring setup, and attend daily/weekly operations review meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Proficiency with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and Azure for pod-level debugging.

Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, with exposure to APM concepts and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Hands-on experience with Dynatrace (dashboards, PurePath, Smartscape, Davis AI) and Splunk (log analysis, SPL queries, saved searches, alerting).

Familiarity with Zabbix for host monitoring, triggers, templates, and alert management.

Experience managing P1/P2 incidents, including triage, escalation, and resolution, with knowledge of ITIL fundamentals.

Proven ability to follow runbooks and SOPs independently, and experience correlating data across multiple tools for failure isolation.

Basic understanding of application performance monitoring (APM) concepts and comfortable using the Linux command line for debugging.

Ability to write and optimize SPL queries in Splunk, with exposure to API-based integrations between monitoring tools.

Experience troubleshooting Java applications (Spring Boot, Microservices) and analyzing Java exception logs and stack traces.
