We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our AWS Platform Engineering Team. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and maintaining a robust, secure, and highly available cloud platform on AWS. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to ensuring optimal platform performance, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to industry best practices. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in AWS platforms and services, software engineering principles, DevOps methodologies, and problem-solving.
Design and implement a scalable, multi-account AWS platform utilizing services such as AWS Organizations, VPC, IAM, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Glue, EMR, and MSK. Develop and manage infrastructure through tools like AWS CDK and CloudFormation. Oversee secure connectivity via AWS PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect. Establish and maintain secure access controls and guardrails using AWS Control Tower, SCPs, and IAM. Drive the entire lifecycle of AWS platform services, from development to deployment, operation, and continuous improvement. Enhance system sustainability through automation and implement changes that boost reliability and development velocity. Practice effective incident response and conduct blameless postmortems. Lead engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and champion technical excellence. Facilitate architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and cultivate a collaborative engineering environment.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in AWS cloud engineering or a comparable role. Demonstrated hands-on experience with a range of AWS services including Lambda, EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, MSK, Glue, and EMR. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly AWS CDK. Solid understanding of AWS networking concepts such as VPC, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, and Transit Gateway. Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, BitBucket/GitHub, Artifactory, and Sonarqube. Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and practical application in Python or Java. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or similar. Comprehensive knowledge of best practices for logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions. Experience with software deployment and configuration automation. Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale systems. Ability to debug and optimize code, alongside automating routine tasks. A systematic approach to problem-solving, coupled with effective communication skills and a proactive drive.
