Join Emergent, a leader in autonomous coding agents that transform software development. We generate, test, and deploy production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our platforms are instrumental in building millions of real-world applications, serving over 10 million users globally and achieving significant ARR. Be part of a team composed of seasoned founders, academic achievers, and industry veterans from top tech companies, dedicated to solving complex challenges in AI-driven software creation.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the security of AI systems that build software, operating at an unprecedented global scale. You will collaborate closely with founders and the core engineering team to tackle novel security problems in the rapidly evolving field of AI and autonomous development.
Secure AI-generated applications at scale by defining security patterns and enforcing guardrails across authentication, data access, APIs, and business logic. Build frameworks for secure-by-default application generation.
Design "secure generation" systems by working with AI/agent pipelines to prevent insecure code, building validation layers for generated code, and detecting prompt injection and adversarial input patterns.
Own application threat modeling by identifying vulnerabilities in dynamic app creation flows, analyzing risks in multi-tenant environments, and building reusable threat models for agent-driven systems.
Build developer-facing security primitives, including authentication systems, permission frameworks, secure SDKs, secure API gateways, and input/output validation layers for LLM-driven flows.
Perform red teaming on AI-generated apps to identify systemic weaknesses and feed learnings back into generation systems.
Requires 5–10+ years of experience in Application Security.
Demonstrate strong coding proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and backend systems.
Possess a deep understanding of key security concepts including: - OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities - Authentication and session management best practices - API security principles - Injection and sandbox escape vectors
Proven experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams is essential.
Ideal candidates will think in systems rather than isolated vulnerabilities and are driven to prevent insecure code from being created. Experience with AI/LLM systems, prompt injection, output validation, and secure code generation systems will significantly set you apart.
