Join a team focused on optimizing global data storage through Google One storage subscriptions. We develop innovative, end-to-end tools for users to manage their cloud storage, with a key focus on the Storage Management UI (SMUI). This role sits at the integration point of Google One, Google Photos, and the OEM ecosystem, building scalable, high-performance full-stack solutions.

As an Engineer, you will shape technical strategy for the user storage lifecycle, creating globally scaled features that assist millions in monitoring, optimizing, and securing their digital content across devices. The Platforms and Devices team drives advancements in Google's software platforms and first-party devices, enhancing user interaction with computing through AI, software, and hardware innovation.

Serve as a technical lead, overseeing the design, architecture, and full deployment of scalable storage features for both Android clients and backend services.

Collaborate across teams to deliver impactful products at the intersection of Google One, Google Photos, and the OEM ecosystem.

Champion the adoption of agentic AI coding capabilities and modern automated workflows to boost engineering velocity, code quality, and system reliability.

Diagnose and resolve complex full-stack issues to enhance product experience, system health, and operational efficiency.

Uphold high standards in Android development and backend integration, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to Google's technical evolution.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Possess 5 years of software development experience, including proficiency in data structures and algorithms.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience in software testing, maintenance, or launch, alongside 1 year in software design and architecture.

Have 3 years of hands-on experience with Android full-stack development.

Preferred qualifications include 5 years in Android application development (Kotlin/Java), experience with scalable backend services/APIs, API design, mobile-backend agreements, client-server architecture, and optimizing Android performance. Familiarity with agentic AI coding frameworks, LLM-assisted coding, subscription platforms, cloud storage, or OEM ecosystem integrations is also valued.
