Design, develop, and maintain robust, bidirectional integrations connecting Rippling with major ERP systems like NetSuite, QuickBooks, and soon Dynamics 365 and Oracle. These integrations will power critical financial functions such as journal syncing, bank reconciliations, and audit data exports.
Take ownership of medium to large features from inception to completion, managing requirements, architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvements with minimal supervision.
Drive technical excellence by establishing and enforcing best practices in code quality, comprehensive testing, observability, and performance optimization within a high-throughput, continuous delivery environment.
Engage in production support and incident response, performing in-depth debugging, analyzing integration failures, resolving customer issues, and implementing preventative fixes to enhance system reliability.
Contribute to the continuous enhancement of integration frameworks and abstractions to expedite development across diverse ERP platforms, ensuring consistency, extensibility, and maintainability.
Lead key initiatives in collaboration with technical leadership, owning critical roadmap projects, proposing architectural enhancements, and shaping the team's strategic direction for expanding global accounting capabilities.
Mentor and guide fellow engineers, conduct thorough design and code reviews, provide architectural feedback, and actively support teammates to elevate the team's collective expertise.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is required, along with over 6 years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating a strong history of delivering backend or full-stack systems.
Possess a solid foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and large-scale reliability. Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Python, Go, Java, or Node.js) and hands-on experience with RESTful or gRPC APIs are essential.
Demonstrate deep expertise in building integrations or middleware, with a preference for experience connecting to ERPs (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Dynamics 365, Oracle) or other financial systems. Strong database skills, encompassing schema design and efficient query writing for relational (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases, are also necessary.
Exhibit proven troubleshooting and support capabilities, including experience debugging production incidents, analyzing logs and metrics, and driving root-cause fixes. Excellent product sense and communication skills are vital for collaborating with Product Managers, UX designers, internal teams, and external partners to translate ambiguous requirements into effective solutions.
Possess a self-starter attitude, a willingness to learn new frameworks, delve into unfamiliar codebases, and proactively undertake non-core tasks, such as light front-end development, custom tooling, or support activities.
