Join the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) team within E+D, dedicated to ensuring customer protection and productivity through a seamless Windows servicing experience. The Trusted Servicing Experiences (TSX) team seeks a motivated Senior Software Engineer to enhance Windows OS code. Your contributions will be vital in securing the customer base, improving platform reliability, resolving issues, building data insights, and developing features for new scenarios across the diverse Windows ecosystem, including PCs, phones, servers, SurfaceHub, Hololens, and Azure.
Key responsibilities include fixing security vulnerabilities and their variants, analyzing and troubleshooting driver-related issues (performance, crashes, compatibility), and developing high-quality, bug-free fixes with minimal compatibility risk. You will also implement enhancements for new features and technologies, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with escalation engineers and partner teams. This role involves identifying product, tool, and process improvements, and mentoring other engineers.

We are looking for candidates with 8+ years of technical engineering experience, proficient in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. Essential skills include proven design and problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality, strong verbal and written communication, and the capacity to thrive in a global, team-oriented environment. A BS in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred. Experience in kernel-mode & user-mode development, solid C/C++ knowledge, and the ability to understand and debug complex codebases are required.
Additional advantageous skills include experience with debugging tools like WinDbg, crash dump analysis, familiarity with Windows platform technologies (WinAppSDK, WinUI, XAML, MSI), knowledge of Windows internals and deployment, and experience with cloud-connected Windows experiences or client-server architectures.
