This role focuses on the analysis, design, development, and successful delivery of software solutions. You will define application requirements and customizations, ensuring adherence to MasterCard's rigorous standards, processes, and best practices. Developing, customizing, and testing applications to meet specific MasterCard specifications is a key aspect of this position. Furthermore, you will provide essential leadership, mentorship, and technical training to fellow team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Key responsibilities include planning, designing, and developing technical solutions and alternatives that align with business needs and MasterCard's established standards. You will lead daily system development and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and delivering highly innovative, cost-effective, high-quality solutions with rapid market entry.
Accountability extends to the full systems development lifecycle, encompassing the creation of high-quality requirement documents, use cases, designs, and detailed technical artifacts. This includes comprehensive test strategies, design, performance benchmarking, deployment plans, contingency measures, feasibility studies, and accurate cost/time analyses.
This role involves system maintenance, production incident problem management, root cause identification, remediation, and on-call support. You will select appropriate technical frameworks and delivery methodologies, adapting artifact templates as needed. Contributing to standards and processes, maintaining solution roadmaps, and actively researching emerging technologies are also crucial. Participation in Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and assisting with vendor solution selection are integral.
Collaboration with vendors for product support and conducting knowledge-sharing sessions on new technologies are expected. You will also mentor and guide team members throughout the SDLC, ensuring robust test coverage and performing quality inspections at various stages, including requirements, design, code, and security reviews, to guarantee compliance with MasterCard standards. Coordinating offshore development and managing daily activities are also part of this dynamic role.
We require a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of robust development experience with Java and the Spring Framework is essential.
Experience in delivering secure solutions within the Financial Services Sector is highly preferred. A broad understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is a must. Candidates should be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of functioning effectively under pressure in an independent setting.
This position demands a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent relationship-building, collaboration, and organizational abilities, are necessary. A willingness and ability to learn new challenges and work collaboratively within diverse, geographically distributed teams are also key attributes.
