We are expanding our team and seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to contribute to our exciting and innovative product development for global markets.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Ethoca, you will be an integral part of a highly agile, cross-functional development team. Your role will involve estimating and owning delivery tasks across the entire software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation, all while meeting business requirements and enhancing Ethoca’s product suite. You will collaborate with other engineering teams to deliver strategic and tactical solutions, embracing a diverse range of technologies and demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation. A passion for design and technology, coupled with a dedication to avoiding technical debt, is essential.
Key responsibilities include participating in team prioritization discussions with stakeholders, driving code and design trade-off decisions, reporting status, and managing risks within your primary application or service. You will focus on driving service integrations to improve customer journeys and user experiences, conducting demos and acceptance discussions with product owners, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems. Furthermore, you will champion technology standards and frameworks, review the work of team members, and provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers.
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 7 years of experience in Software Engineering with comprehensive SDLC exposure. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is required, along with proven experience in building automation frameworks from scratch. Essential technical skills include strong experience with REST APIs, Microservices, Event-driven architectures, Distributed systems, and Cloud-native applications. Familiarity with CI/CD platforms like GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, and automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, or Postman is necessary. A solid understanding of Data Build Tool (DBT) testing for data quality, coupled with strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation, is also crucial. We value a strong grasp of Agile and DevOps practices, as well as experience in mentoring junior team members and managing risks.
