As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key player in a cross-functional development team. Your responsibilities include estimating and owning delivery tasks from design through deployment, ensuring alignment with business requirements and the enhancement of Ethoca's product suite. You will collaborate with other engineering teams to deliver strategic and tactical solutions. A strong understanding of the entire SDLC, including automation and product analysis, is crucial. You'll be exposed to various technologies and are expected to embrace learning and adaptation. Key duties include: - Participating in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders. - Driving code, design, and process trade-off discussions. - Reporting status and managing risks for your primary application/service. - Enhancing the integration of services with a focus on customer journey and experience. - Conducting demos and acceptance discussions with Product Owners. - Gaining a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems. - Championing the adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks. - Reviewing coding, testing, and automation work of team members. - Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong foundation in software engineering principles and a proven track record. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, alongside at least 7 years of experience in software engineering encompassing the entire SDLC. You should possess excellent programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, and experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.
Essential technical experience includes: - Proficiency with REST APIs, Microservices, Event-driven architectures, Distributed systems, and Cloud-native applications. - Familiarity with CI/CD platforms like GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. - Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, and Postman. - A solid understanding of Data build tool (DBT) testing for data quality and reliability. - Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation. - A comprehensive understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
