The Global Data Repository (GDR) is a crucial technology hub within Mastercard, managing enhanced transaction data from issuers and partners. GDR powers key commercial products and is the foundation for SmartData Gen2, our scalable, global platform for payment data management. It collects, aggregates, and secures detailed data from numerous sources, distributing it daily to issuers, their customers, and other entities worldwide via Smart Data solutions or direct system integration.

Our Applications Development Team operates as a self-organizing, interdependent, and highly efficient unit. These cross-functional teams, following Agile SAFE methodologies, are distributed across Pune, India, and St. Louis, USA. Team members may include developers, testers, analysts, architects, project managers, and product owners, all working collaboratively to deliver value iteratively.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging development and quality assurance, leveraging best practices in Agile development, continuous integration, and deployment. Your responsibilities will include:

- Collaborating on business requirements and testing to ensure high-quality product delivery with each iteration. - Acting as a dual-hat engineer, contributing to code reviews, architectural design, and comprehensive test planning across teams. - Reviewing project schedules and documenting test plans and acceptance criteria using tools like JIRA or Rally. - Participating in requirement elaboration, solution design, story pointing, and timely delivery within iterations. - Developing and executing automated and manual exploratory testing to meet business, security, and best practice requirements. - Taking ownership of end-to-end product quality, including defect management, status reporting, metrics creation, and issue escalation. - Building deep business and product knowledge to mentor junior team members, providing leadership without direct management responsibility.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

- Proven success in delivering large-scale software applications as a Senior Developer. - Expertise in Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, RALLY, SQL, and Oracle Database. - Experience with unit and integration testing, ideally with exposure to data virtualization tools. - Proficiency in full-stack development and building robust automated testing frameworks using technologies like Java, Spring, JUnit, Selenium, JBehave, Soap UI/Pro, REST, JSON, and XML within an Eclipse IDE. - A strong understanding of technical solutions and software patterns, including architectural and design patterns. - Demonstrated experience in developing high-quality testing strategies, with a focus on cross-browser and cross-device testing. - The ability to create effective acceptance and integration test automation scripts, integrating them with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Bamboo) and code coverage tools (Sonar, Clover) to achieve high code coverage (80%+). - Exposure to product delivery, performance engineering, and profiling (e.g., Java JVM, Databases), with tools like Load Runner and JMeter being desirable. - Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with keen attention to detail. - Strong communication and leadership abilities, capable of managing multiple test paths concurrently.
