This Senior Software Engineer role involves supporting applications through programming, analysis, design, development, and delivery of robust software solutions. You will explore and implement technical alternatives to meet evolving business requirements.
In this role, you will be responsible for programming, testing, implementing, documenting, maintaining, and supporting systems application software in line with MasterCard's standards and best practices. You will develop high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions based on technical specifications, ensuring delivery within timelines and budget constraints.
Your duties will include researching and evaluating technical solutions for current and future business needs, conducting feasibility studies, and performing detailed system analysis. You will collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines, proactively identify and resolve emerging issues, and participate in production incident management and on-call rotations. Documenting software programs and adhering to Quality Assurance processes are key aspects of this position. You will also contribute ideas to enhance standards and improve process efficiency, and support the collection and reporting of project and software metrics.
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. A deep understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is essential.
Key technical skills include proficiency in object-oriented programming, along with strong coding and debugging capabilities. Experience with Configuration Management tools (e.g., Subversion, Git), ExtJS, Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and Oracle is required. A solid grasp of software design principles, patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multi-threading concepts is also necessary.
Furthermore, you should be adept at leveraging industry-standard test automation frameworks and familiar with continuous delivery practices. Experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments is preferred. The ability to work across multiple operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux) and proficiency with testing frameworks like Gtest and JUnit are valuable. Strong experience with relational databases, including writing efficient SQL queries and Stored Procedures, is a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with creative problem-solving abilities and a capacity for independent learning, are crucial for success in this role.
