As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in programming, testing, implementing, documenting, maintaining, and supporting system applications in line with MasterCard's stringent standards and best practices.
Key responsibilities include: - Developing high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions that meet technical specifications and design artifacts within defined timelines and budgets. - Researching, creating, and evaluating alternative technical solutions to address current and future business needs. - Collaborating with project teams to meet scheduled deadlines, proactively identifying emerging issues and proposing effective solutions. - Documenting software programs according to established Software Development Best Practices. - Adhering to MasterCard's Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes. - Contributing innovative ideas to ensure required standards and processes are in place, actively seeking opportunities for enhancement and improved efficiency. - Supporting the collection and reporting of project and software metrics. - Designing and developing automated test scenarios for system-to-system interfaces and comprehensive software solutions, covering both API and UI tests. - Rigorously adhering to quality standards and assisting team members in validating application functionality through the implementation of robust test strategies, frameworks, tools, and reports. - Providing automation tests for operations teams to leverage in CI/CD automated quality gates. - Identifying and implementing complex automation initiatives, including the refactoring of existing automation code where necessary.
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience is essential, focusing on scalable, multi-threaded software products developed using core Angular, Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle, PL/SQL, and Unix/Shell scripts, deployed on Tomcat.
Proficiency is required in working with both SOAP and RESTFUL APIs. Knowledge of Cloud Native Development environments such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and AWS is expected. Excellent hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins is also crucial.
While not strictly mandatory, experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Rest-assured, TestNG, and Postman is highly beneficial. A strong understanding of Java/microservices design patterns is anticipated, along with knowledge of common industry-standard programming best practices.
Candidates should demonstrate an ability to innovate and develop novel approaches to complex design challenges. Experience working in dynamic, collaborative environments, making independent decisions, and a willingness to learn and deploy new technologies are important. Building scalable, maintainable applications is a core requirement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines, are expected. Prior experience with Agile Methodologies and working with cross-functional teams is a significant advantage.
