Join Rippling's Tax Payment team as a Senior Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in managing over $30 billion in tax remittances across 5000+ agencies in more than 40 countries. This mission-critical role involves designing and evolving our core tax remittance product, ensuring utmost reliability and correctness.

You will be instrumental in developing and optimizing high-throughput, multi-currency distributed systems that manage complex tax scenarios, agency cut-offs, and failure recovery at a global scale.

We are looking for an engineer who can set the standard for reliability, observability, and security in a domain where every code deployment directly impacts people's financial well-being. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Payroll, Banking, Finance Ops, and Compliance to define roadmaps and unlock new product capabilities and geographical expansions.

Architect and enhance the central tax remittance system responsible for processing over $30 billion in payments across 40+ countries and 5000+ tax agencies.

Develop and refine distributed systems capable of handling high volumes of multi-currency tax remittances, agency deadlines, retries, reconciliation, and global-scale failure recovery.

Establish best practices for reliability, observability, security, and compliance within a critical system that directly affects users' livelihoods.

Collaborate with Payroll, Banking, Finance Operations, Compliance, and external payment partners to shape product roadmaps and enable new market entries.

Contribute to team planning, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering their technical growth and autonomy.

Possess a minimum of 7 years of professional programming experience.

Demonstrate a strong ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing duties.

Showcase solid experience in architecting backend applications that incorporate intricate business logic.

Preferred experience with our technology stack: Python, Django, React, MongoDB, and AWS.
