Take ownership of the design and delivery of sophisticated, distributed backend services central to the UTRPT roadmap, making architectural decisions that ensure scalability across diverse business lines and geographies.

Collaborate closely with Science and Data Engineering teams to productionize machine learning models and data pipelines, guaranteeing operational excellence and reliability in production systems.

Champion engineering quality through rigorous design and code reviews, and a robust testing strategy, elevating team standards and establishing best practices.

Lead technical initiatives that span multiple teams, transforming ambiguity into executable plans and breaking down complex, high-risk projects into manageable, incremental deliveries.

Mentor engineers, guiding them towards senior-level ownership by providing technical direction, sharing operational best practices, and demonstrating how to balance immediate delivery needs with long-term architectural vision.

We are seeking candidates with at least 5 years of professional software development experience (non-internship).

Proficiency in at least one programming language is essential, alongside 5 years of experience in designing and scaling new and existing systems, including an understanding of design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles.

Demonstrated experience as a mentor, tech lead, or in leading engineering teams is required.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is necessary. Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
