Join the Prime Video Commerce team in Bengaluru as a Senior Software Development Engineer, where you will own critical offer orchestration and pricing services. These systems are responsible for powering the global commerce experience by determining pricing, applying promotions, composing bundles, and serving the right offer to customers across all Prime Video surfaces.

Our challenge lies in managing massive scale and rapid global expansion, with dozens of new marketplaces launching annually, each presenting unique payment methods, regulatory requirements, and pricing models. We are actively developing dynamic pricing capabilities, enabling exciting promotional experiences for major commercial events, and evolving offer composition as our product portfolio grows. Every new market and offer type introduces combinatorial complexity to a system that must remain accurate, performant, and highly available.

This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex problems in a high-impact system where precision is paramount. You will be responsible for end-to-end service ownership, making key architectural decisions, deploying to production, and operating the systems you build. It's a technically demanding role with immediate impact, where you'll face novel, unsolved challenges.

Take full ownership of offer orchestration and pricing services, driving architectural decisions for optimal correctness, latency, and resilience.

Design sophisticated systems capable of handling the intricate complexity of multi-market, multi-currency, and multi-promotion offer serving at millions of transactions per second.

Investigate and resolve critical production issues that span multiple services, involving deep analysis of traffic patterns, caching, and dependencies to uncover non-obvious root causes.

Lead the engineering efforts for marketplace expansion, managing configurations, offer distribution, compliance, and end-to-end validation in new territories.

Build and maintain the operational health of Tier-1 services through stress testing, capacity planning, alarm tuning, scaling strategies, and incident prevention.

Proactively propose and implement architectural improvements to reduce operational toil, enhance system reliability, and eliminate common production defects.

Provide technical leadership via design and code reviews, offering architectural guidance to empower team members and foster growth.

Strategically leverage AI tooling to accelerate engineering workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and boost development velocity while upholding quality and design ownership.

Demonstrate at least 8 years of experience leading the design and architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.

Possess a strong understanding of professional software engineering practices and the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.

Have 3+ years of experience with distributed systems, or hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Showcase 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, with a focus on reliability and scaling.

Proven experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers, or comprehensive experience with the full software development lifecycle.

Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to both executives and non-technical stakeholders.

Have hands-on experience building and operating high-availability services in production, demonstrating clear ownership of their operational health.
