Join Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and revolutionize AI-native engineering systems. FBA empowers global sellers with Amazon's logistics infrastructure, supporting countless businesses and driving significant annual Gross Merchandise Sales. This role focuses on building proactive, AI-driven systems to eliminate reactive operational tasks, allowing engineers to focus on innovation rather than firefighting.
This is a unique opportunity within a VP-funded, multi-year initiative with comprehensive ownership. You will operate at the forefront of applied AI, developing LLM-powered remediation agents, machine-readable operational knowledge, and autonomous deployment systems. Your work will directly impact over 55 teams and 500 engineers, fostering a culture of invention and fast iteration within a startup-like environment inside Amazon.
Our team is distinct by its focus on building systems that eliminate reactive work. You will be measured by the reduction in operational toil for other teams. AI is integral to our approach, not an add-on, with a clear path for growth and visibility within a leadership-backed mandate. Experience provable impact as your systems free up significant engineering resources across FBA.
Develop and implement AI-native tooling to eliminate operational toil. Build LLM-powered remediation agents for automated issue detection, diagnosis, and resolution. Engineer self-healing deployment platforms enabling continuous, hands-off delivery. Create the FBA knowledge foundation, including OE infrastructure and knowledge-graph tooling, for autonomous AI reasoning. Collaborate within a dedicated pod, receiving mentorship from senior and Principal SDEs. Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development practices across FBA.
A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on programming in at least one language. Proven experience leading the design and architecture of new and existing systems, emphasizing reliability and scalability. Demonstrated experience as a mentor, tech lead, or team lead. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Extensive experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Experience building automation, platform, or developer-productivity systems is highly preferred. A genuine interest in applying LLMs and AI-native approaches to complex engineering challenges. Comfort with driving measurable impact and innovating within ambiguous, high-ownership environments.
