As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will architect, design, and implement highly scalable distributed database systems that guarantee availability, reliability, and performance. You will own significant system software components critical to our industry-leading cloud database services.

Key responsibilities include solving complex technical problems across the entire stack, designing and implementing innovative software solutions to enhance service performance, durability, cost, and security, and building high-quality, always-on products. You will also research and implement solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences.

We are seeking experienced software engineers with a strong background in query optimization for large-scale database systems. A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience, including at least one programming language, is required. You should have 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, demonstrating expertise in design patterns, reliability, and scaling.

Proven experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader is essential. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is a prerequisite. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle and knowledge of PostgreSQL internals.
