NVIDIA
NVIDIA is a pioneer in computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing. We are shaping the future with GPUs powering advanced computing systems, robots, and autonomous vehicles. The Silicon Co-Design Group (SCG) manages the entire lifecycle of GPUs, SoCs, and CPUs, bridging architecture, design, marketing, operations, and productization for diverse markets.
We seek a Senior Silicon Product Definition Engineer to translate intricate silicon and system data into strategic decisions that enhance performance, power efficiency, yield, and quality. This role involves defining product configurations, pinpointing limitations, and optimizing products from initial bring-up to mass production. You will integrate silicon behavior, platform needs, market demands, and manufacturing realities to guide productization. The ideal candidate will leverage AI to accelerate analysis and debugging.
Join us in defining the next era of accelerated computing.
Take ownership of product-definition analysis across performance, power, yield, and quality metrics. Utilize large silicon datasets to uncover product opportunities, risks, and trade-offs.
Drive product-specific configurations by identifying frequency, power, and thermal limiting constraints. Translate findings into actionable changes for silicon, firmware, BIOS, drivers, and platforms.
Develop statistical models, automation, and visualization workflows to enhance decision-making quality.
Collaborate with Tools and Methodology teams to advance data modeling, test procedures, and closed-loop analysis infrastructure.
Lead cross-functional root-cause closure with teams including architecture, design, validation, software/firmware, applications engineering, manufacturing, and operations throughout the product lifecycle.
Evaluate performance-per-watt, PVT behavior, yield, and quality trade-offs, driving productized fixes from implementation to confirmation.
Translate complex silicon and system signals into clear, decision-ready options for executive leadership, providing clarity on product configuration, performance targets, and program risks.
Manage and deliver BIOS-level VF settings across thermal, power, and frequency domains, debugging issues and driving cross-functional fixes to address Power, Thermal, Performance, Yield, and Quality gaps.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Systems Engineering is required.
We are looking for candidates with 5+ years of experience in silicon product definition, post-silicon characterization, product engineering, or performance and power analysis for complex silicon products like GPUs, CPUs, or SoCs.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, performance-per-watt analysis, and optimization across process, voltage, and temperature conditions is essential.
Strong programming and data analysis skills in Python, along with proficiency in Perl, JMP, SQL, or equivalent tools, are necessary. Practical knowledge of statistics and large-dataset manipulation is also crucial.
A solid technical foundation in digital design, circuit analysis, computer architecture, critical-path analysis, process technology, and transistor/device physics is expected.
Working knowledge of the system stack, including firmware, BIOS, drivers, operating-system behavior, and software applications that impact silicon performance and power, is required.
Proven ability to drive ambiguous technical issues to root-cause closure across globally distributed, multi-functional teams is a key requirement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to translate complex technical issues into clear options for executive leadership.
