As a Senior Researcher, you will lead impactful research in securing AI systems and applying AI to solve security problems. Your work will involve developing novel techniques to protect sensitive data throughout AI pipelines, investigating the security of AI agents and autonomous systems against emerging threats, and exploring AI-driven solutions for vulnerability discovery, attack detection, and defense mechanisms.

You will design and execute rigorous evaluations, build prototypes, and rigorously test new security mechanisms. A key aspect of this role includes publishing findings in top-tier venues, contributing to the research agenda, and collaborating with product teams to translate research breakthroughs into enhanced security for Microsoft's systems. You will also mentor junior researchers and interns, fostering a vibrant research ecosystem.

A PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required, along with at least one year of software engineering or research experience. A robust background in computer security, privacy, cryptography, computer systems, or machine learning is essential, evidenced by a strong research track record and publications.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research, formulate significant research problems, develop innovative technical approaches, and evaluate them rigorously.
