This role focuses on the Government and Public Sector (GPS) practice, specifically within the Infrastructure Advisory team. We partner with public sector entities to address critical challenges, drive digital transformation, and reinvent public services for a better future.
Our SaT (Strategy and Transactions) practice enables clients to reimagine ecosystems and reshape portfolios. We assist corporations, private equity, governments, and educational institutions with their strategic, financial, operational, and commercial challenges, utilizing our Capital Agenda framework to improve capital allocation and drive competitive advantage.
The Consultant will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a regulatory intelligence repository, a Know Your Applicant (KYA) framework, and a recommendation engine. This involves comprehensive research, sectoral mapping, in-depth regulatory analysis, and engaging with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include conducting detailed research on various approvals, licenses, and compliance obligations. You will map regulatory requirements across different sectors and states, documenting legal bases, timelines, fees, and applicability conditions. Maintaining structured databases for approvals and compliance is crucial.
You will translate regulatory requirements into user-friendly KYA questions, designing applicability criteria and branching logic. This includes developing sector-specific questionnaires and supporting the refinement of recommendation outputs. Tracking regulatory changes, assessing their implications, and updating databases are also key functions.
Collaboration with ministries, regulators, and state departments is essential for consultation and validation. You will organize workshops, consolidate feedback, and support issue resolution. Generating sector-wise and state-wise insights through data analytics will inform strategic intelligence products.
Ensuring quality assurance, participating in validation and testing exercises, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) are vital for successful implementation.
A postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Economics, Management, Law, Governance, Public Administration, or a related field is required. Certifications or coursework in regulatory affairs, public policy, or business process analysis are preferred.
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. This includes experience in Ease of Doing Business reforms, regulatory analysis, compliance management, government advisory, or policy consulting. Experience working with Government Ministries, State Governments, or regulatory agencies is highly desirable, and prior consulting experience will be advantageous.
Essential skills include regulatory and policy research, understanding Ease of Doing Business reforms, compliance mapping, and process analysis. Strong capabilities in government and industry stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking, and report writing are necessary. Proficiency in data management, documentation, Excel, Power BI, and dashboarding is expected. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are paramount for success in this role.
