Google is committed to putting users first and continuously adapting to a changing world. As a Product Manager, you'll be instrumental in developing products that impact millions daily. You will collaborate across teams, bridging technical and business aspects to guide products from concept to launch. Your role involves dissecting complex challenges into actionable steps for product development.
Our Product Management team thrives on collaborative innovation, working alongside engineers, designers, and marketers to create technologies that enhance information access. We own the product lifecycle, focusing on analysis, positioning, packaging, promotion, and tailoring solutions to user needs.
Spearhead the development of a scalable, potentially AI-driven product strategy and roadmap for the complete data ingestion pipeline. Assume responsibility for the pipeline, encompassing data sourcing, landing, schematization, processing, entity resolution, and storage within our knowledge graph.
Balance ambitious long-term platform scaling objectives (aiming for 100x ingestion throughput) with pragmatic, near-term execution and clearly defined 6-week deliverables.
Influence and design critical schema models and ontologies, acting as a "semi-ontologist" to represent intricate public datasets effectively across knowledge graph and relational schemas.
Own product requirements for ingestion tools, schema mapping UIs, automated processors, Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines, Data Quality, Observability, and Monitoring.
Manage vendor partnerships with meticulous attention to detail, precisely defining internal core ownership versus vendor-managed pipeline tasks, establishing clear accountability, and optimizing incentive alignment.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years in product management or a related technical field. A strong foundation of 5 years' experience specifically in data pipelines, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) infrastructure, or backend data systems is essential.
Demonstrated experience in data modeling, schema design, and API-first development approaches is crucial for this role. Preferred qualifications include expertise with Knowledge Graphs, ontologies, semantic formats like JSON-LD, and entity resolution frameworks.
