As AI increasingly becomes integral to enterprise infrastructure, customers seek dependable solutions for running inference close to their data. Windows Server presents a significant opportunity to enhance this capability for organizations already utilizing Microsoft platforms. This Senior Product Manager role is instrumental in shaping product experiences that streamline AI inference configuration, operation, monitoring, and management on Windows Server. The position operates at the nexus of AI workloads, datacenter infrastructure, hardware acceleration, enterprise management, and customer trust, offering a high-impact opportunity for a Product Manager skilled in technical depth, customer understanding, and product development.
Microsoft's commitment is to empower every individual and organization globally to achieve more. We foster a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration, driven by our core values of respect, integrity, and accountability. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can flourish both professionally and personally.
Key responsibilities include defining customer scenarios, product requirements, and roadmap priorities for Windows Server's AI inferencing features. You will translate complex infrastructure workflows into intuitive experiences for administrators and developers. Collaboration with engineering teams is vital for developing capabilities in configuration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management. Utilizing customer feedback, telemetry, and field insights will guide product trade-offs and focused improvements. Ensuring the product performs effectively across diverse enterprise hardware, including GPU-accelerated and CPU-based setups, is crucial. Crafting clear product narratives, demos, documentation, and success metrics to convey value to customers and field teams will be a key task. Effective collaboration across engineering, design, documentation, sales, hardware partners, and go-to-market teams is essential.
A Bachelor's Degree is required, coupled with at least 5 years of experience in product/service/program management or software development, or equivalent experience. Candidates must also meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience shipping technical, platform, infrastructure, or enterprise products, or equivalent engineering-to-PM experience. Familiarity with AI inference platforms, products, services, or related AI infrastructure technologies is highly beneficial. Strong technical judgment and the ability to work credibly with engineers on systems, APIs, and infrastructure trade-offs are important. Experience in translating ambiguous customer needs into defined requirements, roadmap decisions, and successful product outcomes is valuable. Deep expertise in AI/ML inference, model serving, developer platforms, distributed systems, datacenter infrastructure, cloud, edge, or on-premises environments is a plus. Experience collaborating with OEMs, silicon or accelerator providers, ISVs, systems integrators, or other ecosystem partners is advantageous. The ability to drive cross-functional execution and data-informed product thinking using telemetry, customer feedback, and rapid iteration is expected.
