Senior Post Silicon HSIO Bringup Lead
NVIDIA
NVIDIA
Join NVIDIA's High Speed IO (HSIO) post-silicon validation team as a Lead Engineer, instrumental in bringing up new hardware. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop and productize reliable HSIO interfaces essential for GPU-accelerated computing platforms, as well as next-generation client and automotive systems. Immerse yourself in an environment that fosters innovation and supports groundbreaking work in AI and computing.
NVIDIA is a pioneer in transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing. Our legacy of innovation is built on cutting-edge technology and exceptional talent. As we define the next era of computing with AI, our GPUs will power intelligent computers, robots, and vehicles. We seek individuals who are driven, creative, and passionate about technology to contribute to our ongoing success.
Lead HSIO (PCIe, CXL, NVLink) validation across FPGA, emulators, and silicon. This includes developing test plans, building validation hardware, planning resources, automating processes, executing tests, tracking coverage, resolving bugs, and ensuring smooth release to production.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal and external teams, including logic, circuit, boards, simulation, diagnostics, firmware, driver, and marketing departments, across various time zones. Ensure products meet stringent specifications and are optimized for performance.
Provide crucial engineering support during both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Mass Production (MP) phases. Contribute to reviewing board schematics and PCB layouts, offering recommendations for builds and components.
Influence pre-silicon development and verification methodologies based on post-silicon findings to enhance HSIO product quality. Ensure seamless interoperability with connected devices and system components within complex interconnect topologies.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science (CS), or a comparable field is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in HSIO validation.
A strong grasp of HSIO protocols, including PCI Express, Infiniband, and Ethernet, along with their system-level operation and specifications, is essential. Proficiency with standard lab instruments like DSOs, BERT, and protocol/logic analyzers is necessary.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in post-silicon bring-up, functional validation, troubleshooting, and tuning of HSIO interfaces is key. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for workflow development is highly beneficial.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are vital for collaborating with globally distributed teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality products under tight deadlines. Experience with PCI Express physical layer and debugging LTSSM failures is a significant advantage, as is familiarity with data link, transaction layers, and CXL.
