A Senior Platform Software Engineer is sought to take ownership of moderately complex components within platform services or SDKs. This role involves leading team-level enhancements to integration frameworks and developer tooling. You will conduct in-depth debugging across a defined set of distributed services, ensuring fixes that protect downstream consumers and upgrade paths. Analysis of usage, performance, and error budgets for specific platform surfaces will be key, alongside implementing targeted resilience and capacity optimizations. The position also includes authoring and curating team-scoped documentation, samples, and adoption guidance.

Key responsibilities include owning and evolving bounded platform components, performing deep debugging across a limited-service graph, and driving compatibility-safe remediation plans. You will implement resilience/capacity patterns and document adoption guidance. Responsibilities also encompass designing software solutions, identifying requirements, adhering to the software development lifecycle, developing new features, and leading code reviews. Debugging, troubleshooting, and fixing moderately complex software issues are integral, as is implementing software testing, quality assurance, and observability. Performance profiling and optimization, along with troubleshooting API functionality and integration issues, are also crucial. Designing and developing software aligned with pre-defined architecture, understanding best practices, and collaborating on architecture decisions are expected. You will also collaborate to understand customer issues, provide technical guidance, and coach/mentor others. Adherence to development practices, coding standards, and secure coding practices is essential. Finally, performing system maintenance, testing, and driving improvements for service availability and reliability are part of the role.

This role requires independent management of work, monitoring timelines, and proactive prioritization. Collaboration across teams to achieve shared objectives and build effective partnerships is expected.
