Seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to take ownership of intricate components within platform services and SDKs. This role involves leading team-wide enhancements to integration frameworks and developer tooling. You will conduct in-depth debugging across a defined set of distributed services, implementing fixes that safeguard downstream consumers and upgrade pathways. A key part of this position includes analyzing usage, performance, and error budgets for specific platform functionalities, driving targeted resilience and capacity optimizations. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining team-scoped documentation, samples, and guidance to aid adoption.
Key responsibilities include owning and evolving platform components (service modules, SDK areas) for multi-tenant use, performing deep debugging across limited service graphs, and implementing compatibility-safe remediation plans. You will develop targeted resilience and capacity patterns and document adoption guidance for consumers. This role also involves designing software solutions, analyzing requirements, and contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including suggesting improvements. You will lead code reviews, conduct debugging and troubleshooting for complex issues, and develop fixes. Implementing software testing, quality assurance, error logging, monitoring, and observability for effective debugging is essential. You will also exercise judgment in performance profiling and optimization, troubleshoot API functionality and integration, and implement API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
The ideal candidate will design and develop software, systems, and services aligned with pre-defined system architecture, gaining a working knowledge of software architecture decisions and best practices. Collaboration with team leads to ensure architectural alignment is crucial. You will implement complex performance optimization and scalability strategies in software design. Issue/defect collaboration involves understanding customer issues beyond the immediate team and aligning solutions, potentially providing technical guidance to customers. Mentoring and guiding others to advocate for customers and suggest product enhancements based on feedback is expected. You will implement customer issue and/or defect handling and training processes. A key aspect is investigating and troubleshooting complex product maintenance issues. Compliance with development practices, coding standards, and secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities is mandatory. Periodic system maintenance, testing, upgrading, and patching are also part of the role, focusing on automation, testing, and debugging for service/product availability and reliability.
