Our Infrastructure Design Services team comprises Technology Architects and Engineers focused on analyzing and designing robust infrastructure frameworks that align with application, platform, and system needs, adhering to Mastercard's stringent operational standards and principles. We partner closely with application teams and other key stakeholders from the initial analysis and design phases to ensure the final infrastructure and application architecture meets Mastercard’s high standards for security, scalability, and availability. A key deliverable for this team is the Technical Architecture Document (TAD), which provides a detailed blueprint for the infrastructure design.
In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and designing internet infrastructure solutions that meet diverse member, product, service, and backbone requirements. This includes actively performing the design and delivery of these solutions, ensuring alignment with evolving stakeholder needs.
Key responsibilities involve collaborating with architects, engineers, application teams, and users to generate requirements and confirm that high-level needs are met. You will produce essential documentation such as TADs, technical documents, logical flows, and models to maintain agreement and alignment among all parties throughout the project lifecycle. Ensuring all architectural outputs remain current and are never outdated is crucial.
Your role will extend to resolving internet architectural and operational challenges that impact global infrastructure and product availability/performance. You will also research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into Mastercard’s internet infrastructure. Depending on project needs, you may lead regional projects, taking full accountability for planning, time and cost control, resource management, and implementation. Furthermore, you will implement, manage, and support internet infrastructure components, adhering to current standards and best practices, and perform essential tasks like problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management for Mastercard's internet components. Continuous monitoring of production systems is vital to assure system stability and future compatibility.
We are seeking individuals with a comprehensive understanding of network fundamentals, operating system principles, and web middleware. A deep knowledge in one or more core areas of internet infrastructure design and/or web administration is essential.
Advanced expertise in load balancers and web application firewalls is required, complemented by a working knowledge of database technologies and cloud platforms. Candidates must be high-energy, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of functioning effectively under pressure in an independent setting, demonstrating a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong relationship building, collaborative, and organizational abilities, are critical for working within matrix-based, diverse, and geographically distributed project teams. A genuine willingness and capacity to learn and embrace challenging opportunities is paramount. Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles and Network Micro-segmentation is also highly valued, as is prior experience with YAML-based deployments.
