Join NVIDIA, a company renowned for its groundbreaking innovations in GPUs and parallel computing, from PC gaming to AI. As a learning machine, NVIDIA constantly evolves to tackle challenging problems that matter to the world. Become part of a diverse and supportive environment where creativity and intelligence are amplified, and make a lasting impact.
We are seeking skilled and motivated design engineers to contribute to industry-leading GPU and SOC development. This role offers the chance to influence product lines spanning consumer graphics, autonomous vehicles, and the rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence. You will collaborate with an exceptional global team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and shaping the future of computing.
As a Physical Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in the physical design methodology team, focusing on top-level timing closure flows. Your responsibilities will encompass floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), post-route optimization, static timing analysis (STA), EMIR analysis, IO timing, and ECO and DRC closure.
You will work collaboratively with design teams to overcome complex challenges and assist colleagues in debugging tool, flow, and design-related issues. A key aspect of this role involves continuously seeking improvements in top-level timing optimization and closure flows to enhance turnaround time (TAT). You will troubleshoot a wide range of intricate design problems, applying proactive intervention. Furthermore, you will build efficient design implementation flows using industry-standard and custom EDA tools, while also supporting chip design teams across various tapeouts and technology nodes. Collaboration with EDA vendors to refine toolchains, fix bugs, and implement innovative ideas will also be a crucial part of your contribution.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech/M.Tech) or equivalent experience is required. We are looking for candidates with 4+ years of hands-on experience in Physical Design, ideally with a background in methodology or flow development.
Proficiency with industry-standard Physical Design tools such as ICC2/Innovus, Aspen, PrimeClosure, Tempus, and Seahawk for RTL2GDSII implementation is essential. Strong algorithmic thinking and automation skills, particularly in Python, TCL, and tool-specific scripting for leading Place & Route tools, are highly valued. The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and adapt to a global work environment is crucial.
Excellent communication, strong motivation, and robust analytical and problem-solving skills are expected. A proactive attitude towards learning and mastering new techniques quickly, along with a drive to innovate and implement changes across teams and workflows, will set you apart. This role is designated as hybrid.
