This role is crucial for maintaining the health and security of our enterprise WAN infrastructure. You will lead initiatives in vulnerability remediation, lifecycle management, and software upgrades, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.

Spearhead vulnerability remediation across Versa SD-WAN, Cisco Routing and Switching, and other WAN platforms. Execute software and firmware upgrades for routers, switches, and SD-WAN devices following engineering standards.

Assess security advisories and translate findings into actionable remediation and lifecycle activities. Ensure WAN network devices comply with software versions, security standards, and operational guidelines.

Plan and implement code upgrades, patch deployments, and configuration updates. Conduct pre-upgrade assessments, compatibility reviews, and post-upgrade health checks.

Prepare comprehensive implementation plans, rollback procedures, and technical documentation. Present technical changes effectively during CAB reviews.

Coordinate testing, outage planning, and deployment execution with technical teams and stakeholders. Perform advanced troubleshooting of SD-WAN overlays, underlay WAN, routing protocols, and associated connectivity.

Resolve complex issues related to BGP, OSPF, path selection, WAN failover, VPN services, and traffic steering. Diagnose and resolve problems affecting WAN links, ISP circuits, and SD-WAN fabric health.

Serve as the technical lead for incidents impacting WAN infrastructure and routing platforms. Participate in outage calls, major incident bridges, and conduct root cause analysis for continuous improvement.

Lead assigned remediation waves and network improvement initiatives. Provide operational feedback and technical recommendations for network design changes. Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.

Mentor Associate and Senior Associate engineers, ensuring consistent execution of WAN remediation and lifecycle activities.

Possess strong hands-on expertise in Versa SD-WAN, including Versa Director and Analytics, SD-WAN overlays, and branch edge operations. Demonstrate deep knowledge of Cisco routing (ISR, ASR) and switching platforms relevant to WAN connectivity.

Exhibit advanced understanding of BGP, OSPF, routing policies, redundancy, VPN services, and QoS. Proven experience in troubleshooting WAN links, ISP circuits, and SD-WAN fabric health is essential.

Familiarity with assessing vendor security advisories and executing vulnerability remediation and infrastructure upgrade activities is required. Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration capabilities are critical.

Working knowledge of ITIL practices, including Change, Incident, Problem, Risk, and Release Management, is necessary. Ability to prepare detailed implementation plans, rollback procedures, and technical documentation for CAB presentations is key.

Experience coordinating production deployments, outage windows, and cross-functional stakeholders is important. Knowledge of network monitoring, observability, analytics, and automation platforms is beneficial.

Automation or scripting knowledge using APIs, Python, Ansible, or similar tools is desirable. Strong ownership, sound technical judgment, risk-based decision-making, and a focus on operational safety are paramount.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills are expected. Willingness to work in a global support model, including rotational shifts and support across multiple time zones, is required.

Flexibility to support planned maintenance, deployments, and incident recovery outside regular business hours is necessary. Readiness to travel and collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams and vendors is also important.

Educational background should include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 7-10 years of enterprise WAN network engineering experience is required. CCNNA certification is mandatory, with CCNP Enterprise preferred. Versa certification and ITIL v4 are considered valuable assets.
