We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting and advancing the design, architecture, implementation, security, and ongoing support of our complex, multi-site network communication environment.
Key responsibilities include managing and executing a variety of network projects, from planning to implementation. You will develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing network devices across production, corporate, and non-production environments.
This role involves in-depth troubleshooting of network communication issues and providing technical assistance for operational challenges. You'll oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and implement changes, including those outside standard hours, while proactively identifying and escalating project risks.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for gathering information and overcoming obstacles. You will also engage with change management processes, operations management, and vendor management. Identifying opportunities for service improvement to optimize network performance, efficiency, and capacity is a core function. Additionally, performing baseline checks on new hardware to ensure compliance with company standards and security posture, and supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing are expected.
We are looking for candidates with three to five years of comprehensive IT experience, specifically in networking (LAN/WAN), automation (Ansible/Python), firewalls, security and encryption technologies, and load balancing.
Proven experience with TCP/IP protocol communications and a broad understanding of Cisco's product portfolio are required. Familiarity with network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, and MPLS technologies is essential. Experience working within heavily regulated environments, such as DSS/PCI compliance, is also necessary.
Successful candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate initiative, and have excellent listening abilities. You should be capable of mentoring junior staff, leading effectively, and exercising sound judgment. This role requires limited supervision, with work potentially reviewed for direction and strategy. The ability to identify and implement improvements collaboratively is key. Holding a current CCNP certification or equivalent experience is highly regarded.
