This role involves supporting the design, deployment, and operation of a large-scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The primary focus will be on the development and support of network fabric and systems, requiring a deep understanding of networking protocols and strong programming skills. As part of a global cloud network, you will support hundreds of thousands of network devices connected across dedicated backbone infrastructure, CLos Network, and the Internet.

Collaborate with project managers to define milestones and deliverables. Develop and implement new procedures for network changes when necessary, while primarily utilizing existing ones. Create solutions to empower frontline support teams to address network failures effectively. Mentor and guide junior engineering staff. Contribute to network solution and architecture design, including roadmap development. Participate in operational rotations, serving as primary or secondary support. Provide break-fix support and act as an escalation point for issue remediation, leading post-event root cause analysis. Develop scripts for automating routine tasks for the team and business units. Coordinate with network automation services for support tooling integration. Work with network monitoring systems to gather telemetry and establish alert rules. Build dashboards to visualize network data across various layers and device roles for issue identification. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software development projects related to network automation and monitoring. Liaise with network vendors and internal Quality Assurance teams to resolve bugs and qualify new firmware/operating systems.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, coupled with 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated experience working within a large ISP or cloud provider environment is essential. Experience with RDMA Networking is considered a valuable asset.

Proficiency in network operations roles is necessary.

Strong knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP is expected. Familiarity with VxLAN and EVPN will be a significant advantage.

Extensive experience with scripting or automation and data center design is crucial, with Python being preferred, but expertise in any scripting or compiled language is a must.

Familiarity with network monitoring and telemetry solutions is required.

Experience with network modeling and programming tools like YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF is beneficial.

Candidates must possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, along with sound judgment in influencing product roadmap direction and priorities.

Ability to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively under limited supervision is expected.

Participation in an on-call rotation is a requirement.
